Diesel Training goes back to the beach with two exclusive trainings in Redding, CA:
January 11 - TEXA Training @ 1PM
Our ASE and OEM certified Diesel Technician trainers have developed this course to give students hands-on experience with the software on a live truck. Students will learn how to incorporate TEXA’s software - along with Diesel Laptops’ exclusive software - into their diagnostic process. By the end of this half-day course, students will have the knowledge necessary to go back to the shop and diagnose vehicles and equipment faster and more accurately.

January 12 - Aftertreatment and Emissions Systems @ 8AM
In this class, students will learn how understanding the interaction between upstream engine issues and aftertreatment systems issues can get to the root cause of fault codes faster and more efficiently. Students will sharpen the necessary skills to simplify the diagnosis of complex emissions systems for most variations instead of one specific manufacturer.

New Classes at Diesel Laptops University!
We release new Diesel Laptops University courses each month, all taught by our expert DLU trainers with decades of hands-on experience. This month, we’re featuring classes on Diesel Tablet and Diesel Handheld Pro.
Diesel Tablet:
In this course, students will learn how to set up and use their Diesel Tablet from Diesel Laptops. Positioned between entry-level and dealer-level diagnostic tools, the Diesel Tablet reads and clears fault codes, collects vehicle performance data, and can also run emission system commands on the EGR, DPF, and SCR systems on commercial trucks.
Topics covered include:
- Setting up the Tablet, connecting to a vehicle, and saving vehicle data
- Retrieving active and inactive fault codes and how to find related service information
- How to monitor live data from the vehicle, ECU, and specific modules
- Best practices to perform diagnostic tests and service routines (including emissions service)
Diesel Handheld Pro:
In this course, students will learn how to use the Diesel Handheld Pro to read and clear DTCs, read live data, perform DPF regens, initiate emission and maintenance resets, and punch-out directly to the Diesel Repair platform.
By the end of this class, students will:
- Understand the four (4) sections of the Diesel Handheld Pro interface
- Know how to review and compare saved vehicle data
- Be able to access remote help as needed
- Maintain upgrades to Diesel Handheld Pro

In this Tech Tip, we’re talking about communication breakdowns– specifically, when your computer refuses to talk to your truck… or vice versa! This video will change the way you understand the two machines and how they work together. Diesel Training instructor Scott Meek makes it all make sense.
In-Person Diesel Training
January 12 - HVAC Diagnostics in Columbia, SC
In this class, students will learn the fundamental operation and strategies to use while diagnosing HVAC systems on commercial vehicles. Students learn the proper troubleshooting flow path to identify root causes and confidently diagnose and replace A/C and heating systems. In addition to the lecture portion of this course, students will also perform a live regeneration to validate concepts learned.

January 17 - Electrical Diagnostics I in Chicago, IL
Our ASE and OEM certified Diesel Technician trainers will help students gain the skills and abilities needed to accurately diagnose modern heavy-duty electrical systems, focusing on multiplexed control modules, driver assistance systems, safety systems (such as roll stability), and data-linked systems body manufacturers integrate into vehicles. Students will gain a solid foundation in the basics of electrical diagnoses and the confidence to avoid costly incorrect diagnoses.

Electrical Diagnostics II
In this course, students will increase their electrical know-how with a deeper dive into electrical components and diagnoses. By the end of this one-day class, students will have hands-on experience with the tools and methods used to successfully diagnose circuit faults.
Upon completion, students will receive reference materials for further self-study and a certificate of completion for the course.

January 25 - Oscilloscope Diagnostics 101 in Columbia, SC
In this class, students will learn the basics of using a digital store oscilloscope (DSO) and learn how a DSO can improve their overall diagnostic skills and make them more efficient in their workflow. Students will learn how a few basic tests with a DSO can save hours of diagnostic time and generate more concrete results than traditional tests. Students will perform hands-on tests on various training vehicles and equipment to experience the scope in real-world situations.
Upon completion, students will receive reference materials for further self-study and a certificate of completion for the course.

February 28 - Air Dryer Cartridges Webinar @ 2PM
In this free webinar, students will learn about a critical system in many of today’s heavy-duty truck applications: air dryer cartridges. The instructor will discuss proper maintenance practices and what to look for when selecting an air dryer cartridge. Key questions covered in this course include:
